John Piper screenprint Vaux-le-Vicomte is a wonderful image in the style of the Neo-Romanticism movement of which Piper was a strong figure alongside Paul Nash, Graham Sutherland and Keith Vaughan. Vaux le Vicomte is a baroque style french Chateaux located in Maincy near Melun and was the stately home of Loius XIV who was the superintendent of finances for the French Royal family.
