Jo has captured the Manchester Media City in this painting and uses the back of her brush to scrape away the layers of paint to reveal the structure of the buildings and accentuates them with an impasto application of the paint. Jo's use of shape and shadow really impacts the viewer in her paintings creating an almost rhythmic response to the image.
