Jerry Gordon - The colour of neighbourly love, Rusholme is an oil painting showing life in the suburbs of Rusholme. Manchester back streets hold a real fascination for Jerry. This painting was created during the Corona Virus Lockdown in 2020 and we can see a solitary wine glass on the table alongside a bottle of wine. This encapsulates the solitude many felt during that period of self-isolation. We also see the football shirts on the washing line reminding us of the great inner-city rivalry between the two Manchester clubs.
