Lucy Manfredi was born in Stockport in 1974. From an early age, Lucy always had a fascination with art and creating images. After leaving school, she went on to study illustration and did an art foundation course. Studying illustration at Manchester Metropolitan University she graduated with a film and illustration presentation for her final work.
After studying, Lucy worked as a freelance artist. producing film for advertising, and as a textile designer for the high street. Lucy now specialises in painting full-time from her studio in Cheshire
In 2018 she was elected as a member of MAFA, (Manchester Academy of Fine Arts).
Lucy's work focuses on Northern life, her style is intrinsically northern in both palette and composition. She brings a freshness to the canvas and an ability to create an atmosphere, which few artists are able to do. Her style is reminiscent of Vallette although this is no simple imitation, her style is most certainly her own and she continues the legacy of Northern Art into the new age with exciting and narrative-driven art.
